RAZAK SAKA - CHAIRMAN

Mr. Saka is a seasoned and experienced International Energy Trader with over 15 years of experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, trading oil and petroleum products.

As the Chairman of Octogone Trading Group, he is responsible for the overall strategic direction for the business and its subsidiaries. Based in Cotonou where he manages Octogone Trading S.A., Mr. Razak lends his strong network of relationships he has developed over the years with multinational energy and finance companies in Geneva, London and Dubai.

 

BENJAMIN OVIOSU - MANAGING DIRECTOR

Mr. Benjamin Oviosu oversees the activities of Octogone in Nigeria and its West African operations.

His career spans over 30 years in the financial services and the oil and gas sectors in Nigeria and West Africa. He started off as a Management Consultant with AW Consultants Limited (now Deloitte & Touche) in 1986. He later joined First City Merchant Bank Limited (now First City Monument Bank Plc) in 1989, where he worked in Corporate Finance. In 1991, he joined Diamond Bank Plc as a pioneer staff, working as the Head of Oil and Gas Group, Head of Financial Institutions and Marketing Group, and Head of Corporate Development Division. In 2001, He was appointed as Managing Director/CEO of Diamond Bank Benin S.A.

He later joined the Commercial Banking Team at Access Bank Plc, then served as Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank S.A., Côte D’Ivoire. He returned to Nigeria in 2013, moving to the bank’s Corporate Banking division until 2016. 

He is on the Board of Trustees of PIND Foundation (Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta), a non-profit foundation founded with the support of the Chevron Corporation. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Investment One Financial Services Limited. 

Mr. Oviosu holds a B.Sc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan and an M.Sc in Finance from the University of Lagos. He has attended various programs at Citicorp Institute of Global Finance, New York, International Institute of Management Development Lausanne, Switzerland (IMD) and the Wharton Business School.

 
 

BENJAMIN M. OVIOSU - CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Benjamin M. Oviosu oversees distillates trading activities in Nigeria and operations across West Africa. With over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry, Benjamin has a proven track record of managing trading portfolios and mitigating operational risks.

Previously, Benjamin held roles in the Upstream sector at Technip, Trendsetter Engineering and Compact Manifold and Energy Services, as a Project Installation Engineer and Marine Project Engineering Manager where he managed subsea engineering packages and vessel upgrades, ensuring compliance with technical requirements for deepwater field development projects.

Benjamin's career in Downstream sector began with a brief stint at Clarksons Platou Shipping Services, where he gained valuable insights into brokering and tanker operations.

Benjamin holds a B.Sc. in Maritime Systems Engineering with a minor in Economics from Texas A&M University, as well as an M.Sc. in Subsea Engineering from the University of Houston.

 
 

LUCKY URUGBA - FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Mr. Lucky Urugba oversees the day-to-day operations of a company's finances.

Prior to joining Octogone in 2016, he began his career with Mazars Consulting as a Tax Consultant, rising to a Senior Tax Analyst role before moving to Shelze Consulting as a Senior Consultant. In 2014, he joined HealthPlus Limited as an Accounts Officer, and subsequently Team Lead Management Accounts, Tax and Compliance.

Mr. Urugba studied at the University of Lagos and received his degree in Accounting.

 
 

PRINCE UZOEGWU - HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Mr. Prince Uzoegwu has over 13 years of experience in the downstream sector of the oil and gas industry. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt and held various sales and operation management roles at NNPC and Blue Seas Maritime Services. He also served as General Manager of Operations and Shipping at Dee Jones Petroleum and Gas Limited.

Mr. Uzoegwu has attended several workshops and seminars in Depot Management, Hydrocarbon Measurement, as well as Safety Management.

 

ADELEKE ARIYO - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD

Mr. Adeleke Ariyo began his career with First Bank of Nigeria where he worked for over 15 years in various roles in Customer Service, Marketing and Technical Support.

He holds an Accounting degree from Osun State College of Technology.
